Welcome to the United States of America

I visited the USA at the end of last year, 2009. And it was an amazing trip. So many stories and memories to tell (: n pictures too. Travelled around with my girlfriend, Sharon, who was on exchange to UT Austin. She did most of the planning and booking (: UT Austin is an awesome school with fantastic school spirit, not to mention the 3 level co-op. But more on that later.

Since I'm going to fly that far, might as well make full use of the time there! So travel plans were tight, but we had sufficient time too.

Singapore - Austin, Texas - Miami, Florida - Orlando, Florida - Los Angeles, California - Las Vegas, Nevada - San Francisco, California - Hong Kong, China - Singapore

I have no idea how long exactly to took me to reach San Francisco from Singapore via HK. Flew by Cathay and they've excellent food! yum! The seats were alitte odd though, it wasnt the normal fully-cushioned type, instead it was more plastic that was specially contoured for more comfortable position. Took awhile to get used to, but it was alright.

I had about 2 hours to kill while waiting for my transfer in San Francisco, so took the liberty to walk around the termainal, smell the american air and grab an american original burger. yum. I was excited, slight jet lagged, but excited!

And if i thought that was long enough, i forgot i had another 5hr flight time from SF to Austin :/ We flew all our domestic flights by Southwest, perhaps the most reliable domestic airline in the USA, plus they allow 2x20kg check in luggage, unlike the others which only allows 1x20kg check in.

And the flight attendants were just hilarious, cracking up subtle internal jokes while making those mandatory announcements. (:

"In case of depressurization, please be selfish and attend to yourself first, then to your child."
"Please keep all your mobile phones turned off until you enter the terminal, this includes your blackberry, blueberry and strawberries."

ok, back to studying, exams only end on the 2nd dec :/

next up, TEXAS :D
