forgive me for ranting, but i guess "better out than in i always say"- shrek.
so today i met someone in physio who tore both is acl and pcl. which is worst than my acl and mcl. but maybe on par if you add in my partial meniscotomy of my lateral menicus, which, is my greatest fear in my progress/return to track. the menicus acts like a shock absorber between your thigh bone and shin bone, which essientially takes the entire weight of your body when you're walking, and almost 10x that force when sprinting. so pray for me. chances are that i'll get athritis much much earlier in life. something not good for someone who will just ooze out fats without exercising. not just any exercising. real exercising.
and i began to realise that there are people worst out there than me if you conisder the injury alone. but what brings me down is that first of all, i got this injury playing soccer, a sport that i enjoy alot, but not the sport that i've always been training for. the sport i train for doesnt/never have acl injuries because knee injures are mostly caused my forceful twisiting and sharp change of directions. track is 90% straight line. even curves are more or less straight.
2ndly. i miss this year's SEAgames. something that i've been targetting, aiming for. true, i might not be a first team with 4 other runners faster than me in 4x4, but hey, the experience would be memorable and invaluable to say the least.
adding further salt to the injury, i'll miss at least 2 international competitions apart from seagames. and going overseas for competitions are always FUN (:
but yeah, wiping that smile off, i'm back to ground zero.
now my life progession goes by with happy terms like " oh look, i can actually limp around without my crutches."
doctor says i should forget about track. i am hoping he doesnt say it again this sat at my review with him because i would probably say to him that i'm going to prove him wrong.
