Woah! Outsiders actually read this blog! haha (See previous post comments).
The anonoymous person actually commented "why dont you do something about it instead of just blogging here", which was a good comment and made me think, ya ah, why arent i doing anything about it. haha
Well, on top of my head i guess i can only think of a few good reasons, like SAA wouldnt even nudge with suggestions from athletes, and the FEAR that if any of us athletes do try to take SAA to task, the SAA president who is a oh so powerful lawyer with many old connections, it's a sure lose battle.
Secondly, as an athlete who trains at least 6 times or more a week, I just dont have any extra energy left to fight with thick-skulled old fashioned workers of SAA. Honestly they should have just stuck with the AMATUER status.
Pardon me for not mentioning earlier, (that this fustrated rant because i'm on holiday and have lotsa time to blog,) that I'm not refering to the administrative staff of SAA, THEY are doing a good job with all the paper work and other admin stuffs. But it's those people "higher in the food chain" that needs to be eaten.
I mean take the pahang meet for example, even Mr C Kulanan was bewilded by what was the problem. Pahang side had given the green light for our partipation. All SAA had to do to show some support for its athletes is to say a simple YES. They didnt even do any planning, they are not even paying, we are paying it for ourselves, but cos they feel that they are not in control, they deny us permission to go, although Pahang side called SAA personally to ask if they allowed as to go. So it's not that Pahang didnt invite us, but SAA didnt allow us to go because they think all the clubs are taking their own initiative without consulting them, and for that, they feel that their authority is threatened, so they dont allow us to compete.
I feel sad that i've such an NSA. I love to run and compete for Singapore, my homeland. But it just sucks to have, as Mr Seetow (NUS SRC Head)puts it, "hurdles in our own way."
Hmmm, maybe i shouldnt write so much, latter someone from SAA really reads this blog! :/ then i get BANNED! omg. What nice motivation for singapore sports right?
